DO NOT HIRE! Trust me, it's not worth the risk. There are way too many reputable companies out there that will not do this to you and your family and your home.
Elizabeth and Lester seemed nice but they abandoned the job and left the ivy behind. The job was IVY REMOVAL and the ivy is still on our property, right now, today. We really wanted to hire Silas for some time. When they did finally come they seemed very nice. Elizabeth was who we talked to on the phone and Lester is who we talked to onsite. They seemed honest but they were not. They seemed thorough but they were not. We hired them to remove ivy (completely remove it, never to come back, from whatever method they need to, just so long as it is gone forever). They did not remove the ivy. We took them to court and they lied to the judge on the stand. It was unbelievable. They had a lawyer who allowed this lie to happen. It was crazy. They showed photos of our yard that was not part of the yard that had ivy and they claimed that is where they removed the ivy. Their lawyer had actually been to our property and saw the layout and still allowed this lie to happen.
We paid them $3500 to do this and we got totally screwed. We only took them to court in order to get the money back so we could hire someone else to do the job. That is it. They got away with it. They took our money and didn't do the job. There was not one minute that they there was ivy removed from our property. Even when they claimed they used weed killer to 'remove' the ivy, they were not telling the truth because the ivy was always there. Our mistake was that we paid them ahead of time. We will never do that again. They just abandoned the job and refused to come back and complete it. All we wanted was for them to remove the ivy but they just got overwhelmed, took our money, and ran. We didn't do that great explaining this to the court because of the shock we were in with the lies they were telling. I am just so surprised they still are in business. I am sure the work would have been done well if they would have just done it. But, they didn't want to do it after they got started...so they got lazy and just stopped work and left. Stay away from them if you have any concerns about follow through. They may be affordable but that means you risk them just walking away. At least don't pay them up front.

I have been using Silas since 2022. Elizabeth and Lester are very pleasant to work with, and are much more professional than the landscaping company I hired before. They mow the lawns weekly and bi-weekly, do spring and fall cleanup, and also clean the gutter. There was one time where they sent over a wrong invoice and Elizabeth was very professional and quickly corrected it, which I know the owner from my previous landscaping company would be offended if I point out the mistake. I'd definitely recommend Silas to anyone who is looking for a landscaping company.
